A video of kd lang performing an amazing version of Hallelujah at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games Opening Ceremony at BC Place Stadium. Seeing it on the recording does not do it justice. Seeing it live actually gave me chills and brought a tear to my eye.

  • Thank you for this ceremonie.and of tears on my eyes.

  • @TerrBerrUK yes, and we must include john cale's cover of it...the version jeff based his cover on.

  • @handsomerube neither kd nor jb would be able to interpret the magnificence of this song if it weren't for Leonard Cohen's awesome songwriting. A huge Canadian talent.

  • @happycanadianguy Americans.

  • good version...but wouldn't exist had it not been for the magnificent version from jeff buckley.

  • @happycanadianguy the thumbs down are to the quality of the video

  • I spent $4,000 to be there that night and after I heard this I knew I would cherish the experience forever - no regrets!! My Mom and I both had tears streaming down our cheeks!

  • this was Canada's first gold medal.

  • One of my all time favorite performances. I can't imagine what it must have been like for her to sing that song at the Olympics.. what a magical moment.

  • Thanks so much Dan for posting this. It's so beautiful, and it's very hard to find a legal version of this performance on YouTube.
