This is an audio frequency analyzer program that I wrote in the Java programming language. It will take audio from the microphone and show both the audio signal and its frequency components. The program has a settings panel that gives instant results when some of the settings are changed. If there is some decent amount of interest I can put this online to allow people to try it out.

  • can the code be shared?

  • @paulchedrawi I am planning on releasing the code after I make a few changes.

  • very nice, just made my an audio player in java for my software engineering class (not perfect... but works).

  • @oddenodin Thanks. You should consider making a video of your program. Video examples of programs work great for a portfolio.

  • That is awesome, I am new to programming (just got into GUI a little bit), and this is a pretty sweet program. Wish I could learn how to program something like this!

  • this is a great little program, and I'm looking to something similar in Android, which is Java based. Is there any way I can see the code, or give me some resources that I can use. Using the FFT in Java has been abit of a challenge for me.

  • @lambedan lambedan I'm working in a tele-medicine project, It shold have a Spectrometer like this and I already have the chat, the idea is that the doctors cuould analize a signal in real time by viewing the signal and also chat at the same time. Could you please provide me with the source code? Thks.

  • I agree, this is a very nice program. Would you give me some insight to your source-code? I would like to understand how a sound analyser works in java.
