Classic Game Room HD reviews GALAXIAN for Atari 5200! Namco's 1979 arcade masterpiece comes alive in this 1982 release for the Atari 5200. This Galaxian review has gameplay footage recorded from Galaxian on Atari 5200. Galaxian is an arcade video game coin-op classic and the prequel to Galaga. This Atari 5200 cartridge is affordable to collect today and can be found quite easily on places like eBay. Galaxian is a Space Invaders style game where you shoot aliens swooping down on you from above. Blast them out of the air for more points and save your shots to pick off the red and yellow ones. Galaxian is fast paced and challenging due to the wild attack patterns that are difficult to predict. Galaxian is also available on Atari 2600 and comes on numerous Namco compilation game releases for Playstation and other game consoles. Classic Game Room HD reviews Atari 5200 video games as an Atari 5200 reviewer reviewing Atari 5200 games like Galaxian.

  • (sigh) i wish i could get this game with the atari 5200 but only one problem... the controller *cries fiercly*

  • @ransman413 There's still people making home brew games for the 2600 and some of them are in cartridge form but you would have to order them online. Have you ever heard of Halo 2600? It's actually a really awesome game. You should google it if you are interested.

Side note: I really like what Mark said... "Well every game actually ends the same way with your destruction, the difference is how many points you have before you go out like a bitch" LOL

  • @80sRockRocks Damn Straight.

  • I'd love to see CGR do some Atari Jaguar reviews! Would be awesome to see Mark's take on "Attack of the Mutant Penguins"!

  • Wow, the sound effects blow. We kinda expect that on Atari 2600 and 7800 games, but the 5200 sound isn't always as terrible. Meh.

  • i wish the 2600 was still in production. Call of duty black ops for the atari 2600

  • @BiffsGamingVideos maybe it doesnt always mean high definition...iv neevr actually seen it been stated that i can remember as meaning that. you may assume it does....but that doesnt make it true

  • Amazing.

Twenty-plus years later and this old brick of a console still functions. Then again, I'm not surprised. My brother's Sega Genesis is still alive and kicking (thanks to the magic of duct tape, rubber bands, and some paper clips) after nineteen years.

    Long live Galaxian!!

  • Wow you have a Orginal floppy

  • Hey, you finally reviewd one of these claw machines.
