From the 1966 album 'The Spoiler', released on Blue Note Records. The song was originally written by Bobby Hebb and has been covered numerous times. (Cher, Public Enemies, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, etc... )
This is however a brilliant Jazz rendition. Absolutely sensational! * Stanley Turrentine - tenor saxophone * Blue Mitchell - trumpet * Julian Priester - trombone * James Spaulding - alto saxophone, flute * Pepper Adams - baritone saxophone * McCoy Tyner - piano * Grant Green - guitar * Bob Cranshaw - bass, electric bass * Mickey Roker - drums * Joseph Rivera - percussion (tracks 1,3 & 4) * Duke Pearson - arranger

  • Beautiful. Pulls at the heart strings.

  • Ugh! This my s#it!

  • Blues man in jazz clothing. I am happy that I can say that I was there when when Stanley was doing his NY scene. Every year from xmas to Ny years Stanley was booked at the Village Vangard.

  • WOW! His playing is so rythmical and light! He has the coolest way of moving around on his horn. Incredible!
