  • We come from out there.

  • @SparkyValentine86 from DNA-based templates, so if a living thing has the ability to make or use DNA, it has the ability to make these other compounds. If you get lost, read these comments top to bottom. I think it should be obvious that I didn't full out explain it before because it's sorta hard to convey it and stay under the word limit.

  • @SparkyValentine86 to viruses being living things] as it is very prone to error if it's long enough to make anything more sophisticated than a phage), or in a double helix, like everything from bacteria up. If you were using it as a structural compound, it is such a weak alternative that even though every living thing on Earth has DNA, nothing here uses it for a structure. Proteins are more versatile, lipids have better cohesion, and polysaccharides are stronger. You can make any of these

  • @SparkyValentine86 limit to the number or ways you can fit nucleotides and sugars together and still have it be something we could call DNA or even a nucleic acid. You can have it work as single nucleotides (only useful in energy storage [and we have several much better ways of doing this] or as building blocks for bigger molecules), a single strand (which only works in very, very simple organisms like viruses [a whole other argument as

  • @HailstormPhoenix Molecular genetics is my field. DNA can only function as a information storage medium, energy source, or even a structural compound (humans only use it for the first purpose but it could theoretically be used for the others) with one or two strands. A triple helix looks cool in science fiction movies, but there is no real way (or reason to ) fit a third strand onto a double helix. Artificial versions of DNA have been created, but there is a

  • @SparkyValentine86 So then tell us WHY they don't have an understanding of DNA. Explain yourself, don't just make an assumption about someone else's knowledge, PROVE your hypothesis. What kind of biologist are you, micro, environmental, research, biotech? What makes your knowledge more valid? What makes their information incorrect? Elaborate please.

  • @SparkyValentine86 i agree with you there lol

  • well for there to have been life on earth there had to be life on another planet proven by a piece of an asteroid that came from mars there was micronisims on the rock life on mars has been proven just not advanced life my belief on how life formed on earth was we came form somewhere els and through evaluation and time we evolved form microscopic organisms into what we are today of course thats just my belief and its much more believable then a mythical being putting us here

  • Booo!

  • Entertaining, but as I'm a biologist, I can vouch that whoever wrote this has no understanding of DNA structure.

  • What a load of tripe. Jean Michelle Jarre soundtrack was cool though!

  • Mass Effect!
