Katie, a female 3-striped mud turtle, is going at a fairly large turkey bone. She is quite enthusiastic as you will see.

  • hi Bob! I'm unable to send you mails nor youtube messages! (did youtube change some settings?)

  • @KugelKatzenFisch not that I know of. I sent you another message, please check.

  • Just wanted to say thank you for all your Kinosternon baurii (3-striped mud turtle) information that you gived me in the last year. I am proud owner of an baurii or 3-striped mud turtle, as you prefer, since august 2011. Here name is Gracie and she was born in Hungry. She was only as big as a 1 Euro coin and now she is as big as small chicken egg.

I would like to know how you fixed the plants and light above the tank?

Hope to see more episodes about Muddy, Fern and Romeo.

  • @scentopink the plants are not real. They are set inside ordinary rectangular pots filled with Styrofoam. The lights are supported by aquarium lamp stands that slide underneath the aquarium. They are available in many aquarium shops and online.

  • would it be okay if i gave my turtle chicken bones? (of course with no season what so ever)

  • @pimplick I pick only large turkey bones with no sharp edges (file if necessary). I have heard that chicken bones might fracture and can be dangerous for some mammals. I can't really tell you if they are okay for turtles or not. Try joining the Turtle Forum online and see if anyone there knows the answer.

  • @BauriBob hi bob when will you be doing more videos?

  • @GreatWarr Fern is fine. She has permanent neurologica issues though and can never be released. She cannot lay eggs without some help (oxytocin). She can only eat foods like chicken and fish that have been mashed down flat since her mouth does not open wide. She cannot eat pellets since she cannot aim at something that small - don't know if that is a vision issue or something else.

    I have only one tank.

Will try to do another video soon.

  • Make new turtle videos please! Do you have any other tanks? How's fern doing? ;)

  • Wow you have so many moss balls!! Where did you buy them and how much?
