Furuno Wind Tunnel Test

The new low profile/wing design of our new domes saves the aerodynamic drag equivalent of over 300 Watts(0.5 horsepower) at 45 mph and almost 1500 Watts (2 horsepower) at 70 mph compared to our old antenna design! Additionally, the new antenna generates positive lift which un-weights the antenna as well. Our empirical data proves that the taller and more angular the antenna is, the more aerodynamic drag it has which effectively slows down your boat and causes more fuel consumption!! This improved aerodynamic efficiency applies for both power and sailing vessels because apparent wind speeds can easily exceed the examples above.
