Xena mothers Gabrielle by trying to protect her, and Gabrielle mothers Xena by trying to redeem her. They both seek to be good mothers to their children. Their children seek variously to destroy them or be mothered by them!

Begs the question, is the instinct to nurture/save/protect/shield/heal always a good one? O.O It's so powerful it can be blinding...

Music is "Mother" (the remix) by Era.
Cast includes Solan (Xena's son), Livia aka Eve (Xena's daughter), Hope (Gabrielle's identical daughter), and The Destroyer (Gabrielle's grand-monster o.O).

True true, it would really have been hurtful to Xena, you're right. :) Also true that Livia flew off the handle all the time. Hope was certainly a very focused villain, knowing exactly what she wanted.
