I always did my own oil changes. They are really easy on the 650. Get yourself a Clymer manual, and you'll be fine.

Nice. Just bought an 09 650 classic in grey and silver. Is it pretty easy to do the oil and filter change? How about the final gear oil? Looks simple enough but the bike is completely new to me. the dealer wants me to bring it in at 600 miles and charge me $150 to change the fluids. Uh, that's pretty steep and I'd like to just do it in my garage. Doesn't look hard according to the manual but any input would be appreciated.
