your not loosing any time locking the slips, what ever it takes to get the job done safely and economically efficient. I would say well done gents

A franks is a one piece derrick not a split and who ever posted the comment about locking the slips while swabbing is a retard you land the hanger before you swab
-
hey bro do you prefer service rig over drill rig? if so why?
-
he needs to look up before spinning the pipe in haha thats all your roughneck on the tongs is forgetting

There is a mathematical equation just for this. With a 2 inch cylinder, it will lift 346lbs of weight with 110psi on the air system. Of course ya hafta take into acct fluid in the well, stripper or no stripper, rust, etc. So You should use the 346 as a guideline and trip possibly double that amount with the lock engaged in case of a well full of KCL: Every GOOD roughneck shakes and locks and every GOOD driller, makes him do it. Nuff said. Canadian riggin is the top in the world. I know.

Wow. You guys and your "shakes and locks". What a stupid debate. OF course the roughneck should shake and lock the slips... continued...
