While it's purely down to personal choice as to whether this genre was the best genre of music ever (I have other preferences personally, but I still love Judas Priest), heavy metal must have been just about the best music genre to be a musician in, because you could literally sing about anything you wanted, and it would still make a good heavy metal song.
"Blood Red Skies" is basically Judas Priest musically jacking off for eleven minutes about how awesome cyborgs are. SWEET :D
