  • This is much better than your other videos, Jon. You seem to have improved. You keep your torso still. Your technique has gotten better. The playing is much more accurate and your musical ideas come through strongly. Perhaps this has to do with the stillness in the body?

So many great pianists kept their torso still-Horowitz and Michelangeli to name a few.

It's great to see a true gangsta playing real music instead of all that hip hop crap.

  • Beautiful playing, beautiful home!

  • @EmperorOfOctaves thoughtful comment. i love it.

  • while most high-profile concert pianists seemingly play this etude with more fire and passion, cambry's tone is so crystal clear that it makes the etude sound really beautiful. and after watching many of his videos, that's just his style, and i respect that because he shows that he has enormous technique... he's quite similar to krystian zimmerman.

  • this is not the way scriabin sounds! not even close...

  • bravo !

  • This is good. And its picefull performance, and i think to much peacefull. It needs life, something to be living... you play to much with your head, not heart...

  • I'm no pro-pianist or cultured commentator but this is absolutely amazing! I love this piece but I rarely enjoy interpretations of it.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Beatiful interpretation. I honestly didn't like the studio recording version that you posted. The lines weren't clear but this version here is beautiful. I enjoy listening to the bulk of your videos. But here is a bit constructive criticism . You play such passionate emotionaly driven pieces but you never seem to express the emotion/power/showmanship that can take your playing to that next level. Other than that I am a subscriber to your videos! Good job.

  • Great, I didn't like your studio version at all, this one is really good =)

  • Again, I am utterly jaw dropped. You truly have an amazing gift, and have definitely mastered this etude.

  • wow, you're really a great pianist! I never liked this piece, but now, I really do
