americans fear the beleivers of the koran, fear is what controls america what will the middle east will do next? They burn american flags and replicas of our president and insult us repeatly with amunity, they beleive we dont have the stomache to fight this kind of war, a war of hide and seek, fear is the weapon of choice, someone needs to send them a message that we know how to burn over here too! Im tired of american bending over backwards to please or not affend the beleivers of the koran the very same book that terrorist use to justifie the sneak attacks agains us and the bombing of woman and children. everyone places way to much fear in those who kill without conceince or regret, we should have put a stop to this type of thought years ago, but we decided to play games with them instead of getting to business now they see the usa as weak and we run when threatened and shake behind closed doors. Im getting sick and tired of the USA seen as weak and undecisive. Now we will have to go back and start all over and maybe we will take care of this threat to americans, who can tell the diffrence between a peace loveing moslum or a terrorist? to much is at stake when u have a maybe on everyones head, Is he or is he not and if your wrong you loose your life alot is at stake I think. The Prayer in the First Congress, A.D. 1774
O Lord our Heavenly Father, high and mighty King of kings, and Lord of lords, who dost from thy throne behold all the dwellers on earth and reignest with power supreme and uncontrolled over all the Kingdoms, Empires and Governments; look down in mercy, we beseech Thee, on these our American States, who have fled to Thee from the rod of the oppressor and thrown themselves on Thy gracious protection, desiring to be henceforth dependent only on Thee. To Thee have they appealed for the righteousness of their cause; to Thee do they now look up for that countenance and support, which Thou alone canst give. Take them, therefore, Heavenly Father, under Thy nurturing care; give them wisdom in Council and valor in the field; defeat the malicious designs of our cruel adversaries; convince them of the unrighteousness of their Cause and if they persist in their sanguinary purposes, of own unerring justice, sounding in their hearts, constrain them to drop the weapons of war from their unnerved hands in the day of battle!
Be Thou present, O God of wisdom, and direct the councils of this honorable assembly; enable them to settle things on the best and surest foundation. That the scene of blood may be speedily closed; that order, harmony and peace may be effectually restored, and truth and justice, religion and piety, prevail and flourish amongst the people. Preserve the health of their bodies and vigor of their minds; shower down on them and the millions they here represent, such temporal blessings as Thou seest expedient for them in this world and crown them with everlasting glory in the world to come. All this we ask in the name and through the merits of Jesus Christ, Thy Son and our Savior.
Amen.

Rector of Christ Church of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

  • John Adams was a Christian, but Thomas Jefferson certainly wasn't. No self-respecting historian would claim to believe something so preposterous.

"In the New Testament there is internal evidence that parts of it have proceeded from an extraordinary man; and that other parts are of the fabric of very inferior minds. It is as easy to separate those parts, as to pick out diamonds from dunghills.

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Adams, January 24, 1814

  • @DavidWilliamson1982 , you need to move back to the middle east, Iraq or where ever and get a new look at what you have here, maybe then you would stand for the home you have, diamonds from dunghills, so the christians are the diamonds and those that are not are dung? and you arent a christian? so were does this place you amoung the people that are not diamonds? if you dont like america you need to go back home Im sure they will receive you wilth open arms and probably a AK47

  • George Washington - not christian.

    Benjamin Franklin - not christian.

    Thomas Jefferson - not christian.

    Thomas Paine - not christian.

Look up the French revolution, and you'll see what many of the enlightenment intellectuals thought of the Christian church (not to mention the Gregorian calendar)

Look up the Bosnian genocide, and you'll see where your religious bigotry leads people.

Everyone deserves the same treatment you get. You can worship how you want, so can they. This is a free land.

  • @DavidWilliamson1982 Thomas Jefferson quotes:

God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure if we have removed their only firm basis: a conviction in the minds of men that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever. I dont know what you are reading, french?? Im talking america Gods speed

  • I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between church and State."

-Thomas Jefferson, letter to Danbury Baptist Association, CT., Jan. 1, 1802

  • @danapainterman And I quote "Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions,

  • @DavidWilliamson1982 look some up your self!
