Archery was the only martial art that had been practiced by Korean soldiers. They have no skills of sword or spear fighting.

Therefore, Koreans began learning sword skills and others from Chinese .

@enushisama ... justbecause its based heavily off the chinese doesnt makeit exclusively theirs, the koreans, overtime have become slightly koreanised (sp??). though that doesent say much ill admit since korea and chine have remained very VERY close in terms of culture. there is difference. but its alot more slight comparing say... japan to china or korea.
japan is a oddity in millitary technology. most compare katana to european longsword,. they should compare 2 handed jian to longsword.

Their techniques written in the chinese martial arts book 紀效新書. Therefore, they are not martial arts in Korea.

This is the Mandarin Duck Formation developed by General Qi Jiguang, this formation & strategy was brought to Korean by the Ming troops sent there to help the Koreans expel the japanese invasion.
