Great info! Love that you spread this out to anyone that looks.
However I think that fish should not be fed at all to cats, because it´s an allergen. As you say, cats don´t hund tuna in the desert.. There are so many other protein sources to choose from so there´s no need to feed fish.
I think you forgot to say that raw fish contains thiaminase, an enzyme that destroys thiamine (vitamine B1). Also a reason why you should not feed fish.
Thank you for this information. This is not the first time I've heard this, but I didn't' believe cats couldn't have fish.Mine don't eat tuna, Thank goodness. I understand now! what about "Seameal" supplement by Solid Gold. It has kelp. I assume it's ok.
my special needs cat won't eat anything else but turkey salmon or chicken herring by Wellness. He has lifelong Inflammatory Bowel Disease (damaged pyloric valve) so we have to blend his foods up daily to have no lumps. He is off all meds. I don't even know what food I'd switch too, I've tried to switch to natural balance, but he got urinary infection. Wellness has cranberry which helps urinary.

Our dogs are doing well on Blue Buffalo, do you have an opinion or research on Blue Buffalo brand food?
