@ruantengyi They updated the logo in the past few years. Slight modification but they did update it. (I work at Safeway)

i think in the US nowadays they still use that symbol for Safeway

Gotta love these 80s supermarket ads. Back then there was none of this corporate "We at ASDA have cheaper products than Morrisons and we love it so much we'd sniff our own farts" rubbish.
The glory days when the only way to advertise supermarkets was to have a cheesy jingle playing behind someone reading a stupidly long list of cheap stuff.

Safeway was a Melbourne-based company unrelated to the US business (other than in name). When the Sydney-based Woolworths (also unrelated to their US namesake) bought it, they dropped the logo, but kept the name because it had better consumer recognition than Woolworths.
