Saturday night. 8:30PM. WNEW-TV Channel 5 in the New York metropolitan area. April 17th, 1971. I adjusted my rabbit ear antennae on my portable TV unit in my bedroom to watch my favorite TV show CREATURE FEATURES. That night they showed a really cool monster flick called CASTLE OF EVIL. That 1966 film starred a beefy looking Scott Brady, Virginia Mayo and Sci-Fi stalwart Hugh Marlow, plus a real scary looking Robot. What more could anyone ask?!! Here is my re-creation of that evenings presentation, complete with a recreation of the CREATURE FEATURES Intro, classic commercials for products of the day, and even a surprise or two. Special thanks go out to Saturday8pm, Tapthat2012, Shawnster65 and everyone else who encouraged me on this project. So sit back and enjoy the halcyon days of yesteryear and watch CREATURE FEATURES CASTLE OF EVIL.

Lol! I remember this commercial for a Canadian branch of Campbell Soups called Habitant, where some guy dressed up as Rex Harrison (from MY FAIR LADY) to literally sing its praises.

    "You wouldn't! You couldn't!

    You positively SHOULDN'T,,,

Put water in a Habitant Soup.

    You mustn't EVER...

Put water in a Habitant Soup."

  • OMG...Swanson frozen chicken dinners! I had my share of those, and 85 cents too..try getting THAT price today! We grew up in some great times, didn't we?

That and I also remember Feezer

Queen Salisbury steaks, AND Libby Land dinners for the little guys.

Libby Land always came with that packet of chocolate milk powerd and either a peach or apple cobbler. My fave dinner was the one with the hotdog.
