  • western diamondbacks do have live young.

  • Very nice vid! It's a shame that only half survived, but I was wondering if the mother ate the two dead ones after she discovered them. I've observed it in Crotalus horridus when the neonates fail to thrive, and heard some other viprids do as well. Thanks.

  • I have had sand boas do that, but we did not leave them in the cage long enough for her to consume them.

  • i thought that reptiles laid eggs, not gave birth.

  • it all depends on the species. Some have live birth and some lay eggs.

  • @AzatlanX4 It was a long, depressing three years of waiting but it finally paid off. ;D But you missed me and got the snake. :(

  • @LonerGalore I'm disappointed that you waited 3 years for me to comment, although i appreciate your rather desperate display of anonymous affection ;D

  • @AzatlanX4 I was waiting for someone to make a comment like this; I'm just disappointed that it took three years. Your comment is way out of date, and doesn't even pertain to the question anymore.
