...... I also see little reason the headlight can't have a basic IPX waterproof rating. even just a meter or 2 for 30min would be sufficient for heavy rain or accidental drops in a puddle. I'd like to see the hook be capture with a release mechanism, and be MUCH more sturdy than it is. I'd like to clip the lantern to a carabiner on my pack or tie it up and hoist overhead. Alternatively, a locking shoe with sturdy D-ring would suffice. The Switchback Rugged = MSRP $89.95; I'll have 2!

I just got mine yesterday. Honestly I really like it; great features, plenty of light, common batteries, unique design.
However, I do have to issue some suggestions for future models. The plastic concerns me. For real hard use realability, I'd like to see the entire white shell made from G10 and textured for grip. I think the white color is useful for identification, but most outdoors types are looking for more neutral colors; at least offer it in several earth tones, white & black. ..........
