A look back on yesteryear with family shows and cartoons.
When I was little I kept on having this reoccurring dream. I always would dream that I would wake-up and look outside my window and I would see all the kids from my neighborhood and all the kids at my school all outside. I would be so happy to see them outside playing and I would always be in a hurry to get outside to them but for some reason I always was stopped by something stupid like trying to find my shoes or doing chores. By the time I got done and went outside...they all were gone. I would feel so sad. I kept on having this dream in different scenarios, like a day setting or at night. Sometimes it would be in some other neighborhood or at a toy store. One time I had a dream I was in this neighborhood at night and it was really warm and all the kids were all on a roof of this big house. I wanted to get on top of the roof to be with them so bad! But I could not find a way to get up there. I would look and look until finally I climbed on top of the roof. But by the time I got up there...everyone was gone. I hated having those dreams! I would think I was having a mild nightmare or a dream to hurt my feelings cause I would be so sad in the dreams to the point that it would ruin my day. I stopped having these dreams when I reached the age of....I'll say 15 or 16.
Now last year in November I was looking at videos on youtube. I came across the band Sigur Ros. I saw they made beautiful music and interesting videos. I came across the video to their song "Glosoli". In the video it shows a young boy with a drum on a mountainside and he begins to play the drum and all these little children began to follow him. Some of the children have toys and hats and things. Toward the end of the video they all stop walking and are facing an edge of a cliff. The boy with drum begins to beat the drum and then gives the signal and all the kids began to run up the cliff edge, throwing down the drum and toys while doing so. When they finally reach the edge of the cliff they jump off and they began to fly off the cliff into the air....except for this one boy who was the last to jump. He didn't fly with the rest so he fell down, but he was happy....and that was the end of the video. I had no idea what it meant at all, I just thought it was a dramatic mesmerizing video. I would watch it all the time and I began to realize that the video reminded me of that reoccurring dream that I use to have. The boy that fell off the cliff reminded me of me in my dreams trying to be with the kids but could not, no matter how much I tried. I thought that was strange and I still didn't get the point of the video-UNTIL ONE DAY.....I came across someone's comment. They said that the video stood for kids reaching a point in their life when they let go of their childhood ...in other words....losing their innocence. So I then connected my dream with that and then it became clear to me. The Lord was telling me "the world and mind of kids are going to be destroyed but I'm preserving you and keeping you from that" .... in which he did.
The Power of Kids doesn't exist anymore like it did before. Kids use to have their own identity but now it just seems like they go from being a baby to a carbon copy of a teenager. If you look back at the past shows, like the first cast of the Nick show "All That", you saw "kids". They had their own humor and it was just kids having fun--and some of them were well in their teens but they still acted like kids. Now in days when you see shows with kids in them on the same networks... they don't have that "kid"ness anymore. They act grown and it's just not the same as when I grew up. I always call the 90s "The Golden Age of Kids" because so many shows and cartoons played a role in attributing to kids. We were unstoppable! The world was all about us! But now....that world is dead and "adults" are the ones to blame. We as adults are responsible for making children happy and letting them know that their world matters, but instead we've hushed their world and pushed our world into theirs and replaced their innocent way of thinking. And the sad thing about that is we notice this. Are we that blind and careless to see that supervision matters? Do you turn the channel if it's something inappropriate or do you just sit there and act like it's nothing? I wish I heard people say "enjoy your childhood while you can" as often as I hear "use protection". We went from handing out candy in elementary schools to handing out condoms. Kids now in days don't know how good we had it. There is so much to their world but they have no idea how much they're getting ripped off.
So that is why I made this video, to show that there once was a time that the mind of kids was put forward for all the world to see and it showed their respect to them....But today the light of kids had dimmed and flickered to darkness..... It is official....the world had killed the spirit of children :' (
also, wtf? sex, drugs, violence THE FUCK?!?! The internet is for porn?! porn was around then too. and sex and drugs are only in their faces if they watch tbs, comedy central, mtv, etc. the stuff thats not for them. i could keep going but it's sad you even took the time to make this...

The kids will be fine. Just be a good parent to them. Work hard so that they can have food and clothing and strive to make their life better than yours was growing up. If you do not want them to see real life, keep them sheltered from the outside world and bombard them with fairy tales and stories that will assure them that life is always happy and the world is a beautiful place. But coming from a sheltered home will not prepare them for real life. Real life has nothing to do with fake TV shows.

@wlwrk4fd It has nothing to do with keeping kids sheltered from life. It’s about preserving their minds to prepare them for life. Everyone reaches an age where they receive things better, I can vouch for that. My parents were very careful about the things I watched and I reached an age to understand of why they did that. If I woulda seen some of the things I’ve seen now, as a child, it would of damaged my imagination. If more parents did that, this world wouldn't of gotten as bad as it did :L

oh man..... that was so beautiful... I think i' gonna cry! "Sobs" thank you for reuniting me with the memories of all of my favorite childhood moments! even though you left many out such as the Smurfs and Sonic back when he wasn't a crappy anime you still did a wonderful job showing us that we must all treasure the kid inside of us, for I believe that one day that time will come again when kids will rule the world once more! and even when i'm old and grey i'll feel the way i did back then
