Okay, a new update on the MC-8. Took it on vacation and had a great time. Bus still isnt done yet, lots of trim and furniture to buy, I just put some in there to use it on the trip. Bus still needs to be completed outside as well. I repainted the wheels, until I get polished alcoa rims, and it will get a total paint job later next year or so. The MC-8 didnt do bad on fuel either, it averaged 11mpg which is 2mpg better than the class C motorhome I used to have. Why have "buslike" when you can have the real thing?

  • Very awesome coach !!!:) what does it costs for the upkeep?or you only take out for your vacations ? I would rented . From time to time!!! \m/

  • @91hybrid Thanks, the upkeep is about the same as any lg class A diesel pusher. Right now the bus is used for vacations and weekend camping. Once I am retired, she will see much more action. Thanks

  • 4 or 5 speed?

  • @w5pda 4sd

  • Very cool, neat trip. Alas, what will happen to us coach owners as the fuel prices keep climbing?

  • @PaladinMC8 ****sigh**** well if we want to enjoy the summer I guess we pay it hey? I plan on staying close to home in northern Michigan, which is okay I guess.

  • from a fellow mc9'er and ex macinac employee-what kind of pontoons did you use to drive the bus to macinac island.(haha). We on our way to arizona in 60 days -everyone says to go to quartzite.

  • You know Mr. Hearsedriver1968 not for nothing, I would of LOVED to have driven that bus around town with the seats still inside of it still just for a little while.

  • 11 is good! I can touch that with my 1948 Gillig Coach with Cat 3208/4spAllison!

  • 11 mpg? A highway coach? That's like 30,000 lbs. And a not-so-good coefficient of drag. That's pretty economical.
