Well it looks like I need more pieces to fill the front setting so I'm wedging some moisture into the Continental Clay Cone 12 Porcelain Wood Fire Porcelain I got to see if it withstands my kiln's intense heat.
@shartne Clay is kinda like sourdough bread. Some of this clay was started 20 years ago, frozen on & off for 10 years, and then new clay was added. The bad smelling scrap wash up just got worse after using the Continental Porcelain so I think there might be an organic plasticizer added and it has fermented.
We used to pour a beer in the batch of clay and mix it up then let it set for a month or two and it would age it faster. The it was the nicest elastic clay. After a year or so sitting in a trash can in a plastic bag with the lid on it was pretty awesome.

Looks like you got a pretty good work out kneading it to get that water back in it.
