There is a common complaint that we shouldn't have stuff in Latin because it's too difficult for children, and it puts them off...

I'm a post VII guy with 12 years of Catholic school. One of the many things that was stripped from us, besides the liturgy, is Latin in school. As an adult I now study it on my own but I do wish it would have been a part of my Catholic education from first grade on up.

Latin wasn't too difficult for the Franks, the Angles, and countless other barbarian tribes civilized by the church.
We can memorize the new features and functionality of the latest iPhone, but heaven forbid latin!
