Thanks in part to a $300 million grant through the Recovery Act, Johnson Controls is re-opening a plant that is now being retrofitted to produce batteries that will power tomorrow's electric cars.

  • Listen to some of the comments of the principles here. They already where going to be opening a battery plant... overseas. The reason they are doing it here is because of this grant.

    What will keep them here once the money is gone? And why aren't the issues that caused them to look overseas being addressed?

    The deeper concern I have is throwing corporate welfare at any company, let alone these larger companies who are already outsourcing. If we must do this, lets support small companies.
