  • Thanks informative video. My question I see Stephen Meisel and Peter Lindberg using continuous lights a lot in fashion. Whats your opinion on flash vs continuous?

  • @blucinemafilms To do a good job with continuous you either have to be very lucky or need to really know what you're doing. Generally continuous does not supply enough light so you have to use a long exposure time. With long exposure times you need a tripod because hand-holding will shake your camera causing blur. If your subject moves you will get blur. Otherwise you can use brighter lights - that usually means more heat - thusly they are called hot lights too. Newer fluorescents are cooler.

  • what does that have to do with lighting???

  • Maybe you were in the part of Morocco that did NOT value large, round women. All I'm saying is that the rest of the world isn't so fixated on skinny broads... regular folks need to be used in lighting and photography tutorials as well, for that touch of realism.

What kind of lighting would one need for obese Americans though? Probably one with mounting rodes made from donuts :)

  • Yea lets all photograph over weight or plump women and see our client list change to zero!

  • @cpo2u I agree completely. I'm really tired of unhealthy skinny women being the "norm"

  • @oceandrew oh ok...and my reply wasn't to come across as me on the offence or anything lol... i guess i must have misinterpreted though...

  • @vStreetStruckv I totally agree. The context of my remark was in answer to the complaint that "skinny broads" are used as models more often than the overweight.... editorializing aside.

  • @oceandrew though good photographers can make *anything* 'pleasing to the eye' if they're skilled enough...skinny models look nice to an extent, and people are becoming more accepting of different size models (so long as the right photographers with the appreciation of something *different* keep doing their thing)

  • Thanks, excellent advice and the models are perfect!

  • food wishes thats the voice
