As the title suggests, this is a video that me and my actor made to test his Hague Mini Motion Cam. I fell in love with it during the shoot so I bought it from him that very day. Shot with my bare Canon HV20. Some color grading was applied. Music by Kevin MacLeod.

  • Looks good, nice colour work too. It shows you what can be achieved, if only I can stop the pendulum effect on mine but then again I've only had it two days (bit impatient of me haha). I have a Canon 500D on top (about 500g) plus standard 18-55mm lens, it's trial and error I think but inspiring to see stuff like this when it's balanced correctly so I'll keep trying. Cheers.

  • @SixMagicNumbers Thanks. My balance was a tad off but it was good enough for walking and slow tracking/dollying movements. Keep balancing. It's worth it. :)

  • Thanks for showing this video. I bought one myself last week. How did you shoot the low angle shots? I find it quite hard, as the 'pendulum' keeps on getting in the way.

  • @MrHkggood Yeah, a stabilizer of this sort makes low angles difficult. Thankfully it's not the biggest stabilizer out there though. I just ran it as low as I could and tried to watch out for the ground as I was also trying to keep the subject in the shot.

  • You only show the footage and you never show the stabilizer in action. I have no idea at all if what kind of stabilizer you did use.

  • @WCecogo It's in the title and the description. If you google for "hague mini motion-cam" I'm sure you will find pictures and videos of it. I had no other camera at the time, hence there is no "behind the scenes".

  • @cashimirs Thanks, the camera was in shutter priority with at least 1/100 shutter in every clip to get the right motion blur for slow motion. I was adjusting the exposure compensation setting to fool the camera into locking the aperture for me. Contrast, saturation, brightness, sharpness and all that were at their lowest settings I belive.

  • wowwwwwww really great video what settings did you have this on

  • @Lantismedia Dang that's what I feared.

  • @bruvvamoff Canon HV20 for this one. The 7D is too heavy for the MMC, and the specs on their website will confirm it. You could add more weight, but eventually it will start swinging around all over the place becuase of too much weight on the bottom. I think it has to do with the height of the stabilizer. Heavier cameras need a longer "pendulum".
