Take-off and initial climb of a Continental Airlines Boeing 737-700 from runway 1 of the Ronald Reagan National airport, Washington, DC (Arlington, VA).
Aircraft registration: N23708. Flight CO1059 to the George Bush Intercontinental airport, Houston, TX.
During take-off run, a Sikorsky helicopter known as 'Marine One' can be seen on the background approaching to Bolling AB.

  • as a pilot myself, the reason they had to make a hard bank to the left is because flying over the washington monument and the capitol is restriced airspace 18,000 ft and below

  • Aviation enthusiast, only. Visit skyvector(dot)com/?id=KDCA&zoo­m=1 and click on 'Washington' chart. The National Mall & the White House are inside prohibited area P-56A, the Naval Observatory is P-56B.
