Great blade design and solid construction make the Spyderco Tenacious an all star among EDC utility knives. It's extremely popular, and with good reason. The steel takes a super sharp edge and holds it very well throughout most basic tasks. The handles are G10 - very nice to have at this price - and are textured for positive control. The thumb ramp has jimping which also improves tip control during controlled slicing. The pocket clip is reversable on either side for left and right-handed, tip or down carry. The thin, flat ground stainless blade is probably not best suited for outdoors use, but it can function as a defensive blade should the need arise. The deployment is extremely quick and smooth thanks to the phospher bronze bushings. The tip is thin and sharp, and the nice sweep gives the knife slashing capability. That, and the reflective finish, should make the knife somewhat intimidating and hopefully dissuade an attacker from engaging. Given the universal utility of the knife in such a lightweight (4oz.), affordable package, I give it high marks and recommend it to anyone. 9/10

  • I wonder why does the tenacious have a reputation for cutting its owners. I suspect its due to the very sharp blade, but could it be a flaw in the design of the blade its self?

  • @Yui78Gold I imagine it's for two reasons: 1) the knife opens and closes very fast, and 2) it's extremely sharp, given the flat grind and wide profile.

  • noticed the bandage...did the tenacious cut you too? lol

  • @c0nsci0usness It's been a while, do I don't remember... but I wouldn't be surprised.

  • should i get this or a rat 1?

  • @KingWixo For everyday tasks, this is the better choice - it's lighter, faster, and more comfortable. The RAT1 is much more rugged - it has a thicker liner lock, tougher scales, and a more robust blade, making it better for the outdoors or "tactical" applications.

  • I still like the harpy best. Hawkbill blades cannot be beat!

  • @JustSomeOldGuy lol, I would laugh in the face of that prosecuting attorney. He even said in the video, was VERY clear that the knife would be well suited for "defensive purposes" if need be. He didn't say, "Hey, I've considered killing people with this blade, and it'd be great for the job!"

  • Not a very smart move to talk about a knife's ability to stab or be used in a fight on video. If you ever are unfortunate enough to actually HAVE to use it in a fight, this video may very well be used against you by a ruthless prosecuting attorney.

  • its not a thin knife,its medium...

  • LIFE IN THE FAST LANE! ;)

  • wanna trade?

  • what size torx do u need to remove the pocket clip

  • Don't hurt yourself please!
