with proper management and structure, montgomery could be the ideal working class, excoal mining town of wva. I hope to return soon!

Thanks for the video. My parents & granparents lived in London, WV a few miles from Montgomery. My BEST memories are in London & Montgomery,WV. I miss is soo much . Right at about 2:59 shows the corner store my Grandmother wroked in for years , Collins clothing store. We swam at that pool, shopped at those stores. Thanks again. My heart is aching for West Virginia and all my loved ones who are no longer there to welcome me home . I can still c they way it was 40 yrs ago.

My girlfriend is from NYC!!..lol If you pass through the Washington DC area, I'll wave at every train that I see..maybe you'll catch me on video..;) Have a safe trip.
And that's the NICE part of town! LOL Seriously, I grew up there (I'm 48) and it hasn't changed much, but somehow looks much more run down on film than it is in person. I won races in that pool, drank in those frat houses, shopped in those stores, got gas at those filling stations... a great place to grow up, though it may not look it. I think the people made it. Great people... it's not about the houses, you know. Thanks for capturing this; thanks for the memories!

@pignanelli It comes across on video as being a dull day whereas it was actually quite sunny and warm. Maybe it's that that makes it look rundown? Places often look nicer in the sunshine

Thanks for the nice comment, torpedo :-)I'd been taking a few photos as we went through KY and WV,then I saw the mine in the distance and started to video it; as I did so the train began to slow down so I kept recording. I had no idea we were coming into Montgomery,it was just accident that I videoed it!
The backing track is 'All in its own time' by Anandi.
