I dont hear about grizzlys being hunted everits not as popular here we have tons of black bear and i thaught it was illegal to hunt grizzlys.. I live in bc we have tons of black bears.

a black bear is the only sure thing you will see in the bush hunting where i live in bc

Despite what Mr. Suzuki and others will have you believe, bear populations in British Columbia are very healthy. HSUS needs to worry about things they can change, the bear hunts in BC aren't going anywhere.
-
@CandidSari It's sad, because these bears are poached on top of the sport hunting. Their population is dwindling.

I live in B.C. Myself, I do hunt, (I don't hunt bears) but I've been taught 'take what you need' and to use as much of the animal as possible.
I love animals, but I'm not one to say "how could you kill a deer!? There so cute and adoable!" because I know there is a need of balance.

@1dangerouskarateka I live in B.C. we are now required to harvest all the meat from black bears, I am a hunter but I do not hunt bears. Ask any wildlife biologists who work for the B.C. government " how many grizzly bears do we have in B.C. ? " you will not receive an answer regarding numbers, if you do it will be nothing but lies and misinformation.
Grizzly bear hunting is strictly trophy hunting, you know, pay the outfitters stupid amounts of money then have your photo taken with the bear.

I'm pretty sure hunters eat the bear ppl. Unless they skin the bear and leave it's carcass to rot like "sealing" then I'll side with u animal lovers. But if the meat is being consumed then... I'm game.

@CanucksCup2010 Agree. I hated rattlesnake roundups anyway.

The outfitters in Northern British Columbia have 4 bear tags over a period of 5 years and some are NOT successful in harvesting a bear each year. I believe that these wildlife biologisits should get off there computers and cover every square inch of British Columbia to count the amount of bears in that province, they'll find that the grizzly bear population is no where near extinct. Why doesn't HSUS worry about Alaska's bear hunts worry about what's happening in your own country.
