Melancholy improv on a vintage Hofner archtop. Guitar is maple laminate. Recent refret and no issues. Low action plays great. Looking for Model and approximate value. Any input appreciated.
My Hofner President (1958) has a neck like a telegraph pole, and an action you could drive a 'bus under. Very hard to play. Because it doesn't have a truss rod, there's no way to lower the action either. But with good strings the tone is superb... Just difficult to play!
@dass0137 Not sure what it is, but with new strings it helps for a while.

Nice playing, I have recently restrung my Hofner, but seems really hard to tune.

Some of the bright harp like sound is because this excellent player is plucking the strings with his fingernails, giving it a "ching" sound.
