@Tezcatlepocatl The Favelas in Brazil? Are you kidding me? You haven't heard of the Brazilian war on drugs? It's just as bad if not worse than the Mexican War on Drugs. And Mexican standards of living being higher than Eastern European standards of living isn't very surprising considering Mexico has a thriving tourism industry. And of course they're making it hard to buy firearms, they're trying to keep them out of the drug dealers hands.

@Yakiller69 Mexico's gun death rate is lower than Brazil's and there's no drug war there that I've heard of. Mexico's standard of living is actually higher than some Eastern European nations', Romania being a well-known one.
I doubt you've never been to Mexico, while I've lived there, so don't try to lecture me on that country. 22 is VERY hard to get and you need connections for more, despite the "constitutional guarantee". I also know crime would be lower if citizens of Mexico could fight back.

@Tezcatlepocatl A massive drug war that the Government is losing is causing that increase in homicide. The Mexican drug war causes over 50,000 narco related killings a year. Mexico is literally involved in a civil war with the Drug Gangs. Guns in Mexico are also not outlawed anything over .22 caliber is allowed, but harder to access. Keep in mind Mexico still guarantees her people firearms in their constitution. Most of Europe is eastern europe too, and eastern europe for a large part is poor.

@Yakiller69 15,000 gun deaths a year in the U.S. (Not America) is a small number compared to the 2.5 million defensive gun uses by civilians in a year. Many of those likely saved lives.
The U.S. also has a gun homicide rate of 3 per 100,000 pop while Mexico, where guns are outlawed, has a rate of 10 gun murders per 100,000 pop. Mexico is not a 3rd world hellhole in the ME; it's at spot 56 out of 200 countries for standard of living, just below most of Europe. Its guns laws cause those deaths.

@Tezcatlepocatl Firearms in America cause 15,000 deaths a year, while suicide and vehicle attacks in Iraq cause on average a little less than 13,000 deaths per year and Iraq is a warzone.

You're right. It's not a failed parody, but it's based on a VERY loose connection. It's like comparing having a potentially violent pet dog with keeping a pet alligator that's already killed 5 people.

@Tezcatlepocatl The second amendment was created as a safeguard for all other rights against tyranny, and the suicide bombers consider themselves freedom fighters. It's not a failed parody you just love your guns and fail to understand that easy access to firearms leads to more deadly crime.

@Tezcatlepocatl How else can we protect the people we love if we don't have suicide vests right now, this waiting period puts ours familys at risk. When the oppressors come for you and you go to get a vest you wont be able to, because of this waiting period is that what you want, IS IT?!?!?!
-
@Tezcatlepocatl i agree i bought a suicide vest to protect my family, and i wear it at all times in public just in case i have an excuse to use it, this new law is bogus
