@Slitripper5000 I'm working on it now, but there's a chance I might get it fixed via the extended warranty which is in effect until 3-26-2013 I purchased when buying the bike. I'm taking it to a dealer that is familiar with the oil burning issue of the 2008 CBR1000RR.
@redrr04 Yea thats what they all say, i have one i thought was going to be a burner, turns out it just needed to be taught a lesson... mine burns about a half a quart between the 2k mile oil changes... Mine still runs like a raped ape, never had a problem, i have a 09 r1 and a replacement motor for my rr, and i cant blow up mine rr, it runs like a beast and take some serious abuse, hondas are number one, in everything
@Slitripper5000 I ran the shit out of mine got a little over 30,000 miles in it before she quit. I'm debating about even taking it to the dealer figures Honda will screw me anyway on the warranty. I can pick up a used motor anywhere from $1,000 to $1,800. I agree love the bike and will continue to ride Honda.
@redrr04 Fix it yourself, one weekend job, about 15 hrs of work if you take ur time and drink, grab a case of beer and sit back and drink with a buddy, make sure u have a manual tho, it is a little tricky, I replaced one this spring and it wasnt bad, it only had 7,000 miles, and it was tore up, we replaced the ring and valve and put it in a go cart, it blew up in a week again, we ran a c16/meth blend as fuel
@Slitripper5000 Yea I plan on doing it over the winter months, but thought might have a chance of Honda fixing it for free. I'll be back riding in the Spring, figured worst case scenario I'd end up having 2 bikes still like to get a 2012.
I have a feeling you have a replacement motor in the garage..
