Not all areas were affected that day. I was on a trip to Cornwall on that day. Hot sunshine prevailed, even though by early evening, you could see the tops of the cumulonimbus in the distance, but by then they were beginning to dissipate.
@cocobirdcoco I still have the sat imagery and radar from this day. The storm you filmed over Kent collapsed (in spectacular fashion!) just before an enormous multicell storm bloomed over Central and Southern Uk, which this film shows part of. I drove into it just as it was dying out, so sadly missed the best of it. :/
I was caught in this storm I remember getting pelted by hailstones the size of tennis balls!
