some one help me im trying to make a generator out of the HDD motor with magnets stuck on it (the disk) and make electricity the higher the voltage the better im only 13 i dont know that much but i really want to make it help please

I have a big DC motor from what I think is the engine cooling fan, sadly I think the bearing is shot.

What do I type on Ebay to find some of these drills???

would a cordless drill be enough to charge a 12v car battery????????????

@josebendana if your voltage is above 12 v it will charge but your amps may be low. You would also need a blocking diode.

I'm still learning a lot of this stuff. What type of voltage regulator would I need to get for a set up like this? Great video. I never knew those drills could generate power. So basically any DC motor can generate dc power? (I'm thinking heater blower motor out of car or windshield wiper motors too.)

Most 99% DC motors work very good. The key is the RPMS that you get them too. A window motor has a 50:1 gear ration in some cases. This is too hard to turn. 4:1 up to 20:1 ratios are good. Planetary gears are different. A voltage regulator prevents over charging and most have blocking diodes ($3 ebay) which allow 1 direction current so you batteries do not power the motor or generator.
Natural lower RPM motors (no gear box) produce more voltage than higher RPM motors turn for turn.
