no, castlevania was around way before god of war, and when you play the nintendo 64 version the game play will be in 3D and so then they teamed with Hideo Kojima and they both produced one of the greatest games of all time, god of war was based off its own. Castlevania 64 started the RPG style castlevania gameplay

The Belmonts always used a chain whip. As for God of war much of its' inspiration was from greats of yesterday such as super castlevania 4.(Not to mention Lament of Innocence is a 3D CV action game on the PS2 predating GOW) But seriously bro is Lords Of Shadow making you this mad? it is kind of true. For one reason this castlevania has nothing to do with the main plot didnt even remember there being this guy as a belmont and theres only one thing i dont get about the belmont story the first belmont Leon put his wife into a magic whip so how the hell did he have desendences.
