tapas = any small, savory dish of Spanish food, often served as a snack. In other words, the Spanish equivalent of Chinese "dim sum."

tapa = lid or cover

tapas bar = a bar that serves tapas

  • in Mexico they don't have tapas. Spain is in europe and our food is very healthy, very variete and very mediterranean, nothing compared with mexican food.

  • No, no es mentira, en un principio las tapas eran eso, lo usaban para tapar las botellas cuando no bebian, y normalmente era una loncha de jamon reseco o un cacho de pan, luego se dieron cuenta que si se la comian mientras bebian era mas way y asi nacio to el tinglao este.
