@emilshere is it possible you just need this as an excuse for your own addiction? To me, it does seem as it's just a "self-control" issue... nothing more. Some people have a harder time than others with self control, and i think thats what he is saying. It's not even a terrible thing... do you feel he is being judgemental? I dont think so... i think he's just saying its a self-control problem.... not saying anything else like you are inferior bc of it.

the reason why Axl Rose is so fucked up mentally is in part because he was beaten and raped as a child. I really don't think this was appropriate, although to be fair he probably doesn't know of this.

Genes view on self control, (drugs, alcohol, overeating, etc..) completely ignore decades of psychological research and understanding which has proven that addiction and substance abuse goes far deeper than just a 'self control' issue. For him to say its simply a matter of "policing oneself" goes to show his lack of understanding of the desease of addiction and dependency.

Come on Gene, wall street just demonstrated they can't run the financial industry without massive government subsidy. Where is the evidence these people can balance government books better than politicians? I dislike politicians immensely but it is mainly because anyone worth their salt would never run for office in an environment where the media will destroy your image for political interest regardless of societal benefits or implications.
