I agree exactly. I would say more specifically that the executive administration broke the law. They do so with impunity. Its the Cheney gambit. First they have to get caught, then they throw out some ridiculous misinterpretation of the law, and finally argue their position in court. In the worst case scenario it is five years before the Supreme courts hears the case and they've been breaking the law all the while. Its actually quite brilliant. The first FISA was not broken, the law was broken.

I am so disappointed with Obama's flip-flop on FISA that, as a FORMER Republican, I might vote for Barr.

The legislation is so patently unConstitutional that no President who loves, supports and defends the Constitution would so willingly endorse it.

6) Death penalty. I'll speak for myself on this one. I am strongly opposed to the death penalty. My opposition stems from my lack of faith in the criminal justice system. But with DNA technology it is now possible to conclusively prove sexual assault.

Furthermore, child rape is often worse than murder in my opinion. Also, the rate of recidivism, draws into question whether this category of criminal can realistically be rehabilitated and let back into society. A child rapist and murderer?!

NSA developed program to monitor voice data for keywords. Listen to everything, if someone says the wrong thing they get flagged for further investigation. It is quintessential "Big Brother watching". The technology sat on the shelf because the program was universally considered illegal.

After 9/11 the Bush administration used a patriot act clause which grouped terrorists with foreign agents to initiate the program through FISA. The new law makes the program more explicitly illegal.
