David Malone narrates this BBC documentary on 3 mathematicians and 1 physicist on their various scientific pursuits and how each of them suffered the consequences for their obsessions. Divided into 10 parts. Enjoy.

  • @p6a9u1l42 We can not understand universe because we are unable to understand it. We are not infinite beings, we cannot comprehend it. Only God is infinite.

  • What is it that contains the Zero and the Infinity?

  • there is no evidence of a lot of things that people believe in and could be right everyone has a right to their opinion i just don't think we know anything compared to the real truths of the universe

  • There is no evidence of that so far.

  • im pretty sure these great mathematicians know more then you

  • But while you can only add zero to infinity, you can divide it such:

    1/2∞ + 1/4∞ + 1/4∞= whole∞

There can be only one infinity which contains all whole numbers. Thus there are no numbers that can be added to it.

No numbers exist outside of it except zero.

So you can't have two infinities as Cantor thought. The fractionate of infinity remains a fractionate, never a whole.

That way, the mathematical laws of infinity make perfect sense.

  • ∞ INFINITY

Canton brought light to the concept of infinity but did not realize how it worked mathematically, that's all. When applying false premises it didn't make sense and so it drove him crazy.

The opposite of INFINITY is ZERO. But unlike infinity, you cannot divide zero, but you can add to zero an infinity number.

So the only formula where addition is involved with infinity is "∞ + 0 = ∞"

Why? Because zero is the only non-infinity number available.

  • Thanks for this presentation. Fascinating.

    However....

INFINITY, by definition is all whole numbers and thus it is impossible to add any whole number to infinity. Perhaps that's where cantor went wrong, on the false premise.

It is possible to divide infinity into an infinite number of parts but each part will reflect only a portion of the final 1, which in this case is better defined as the "single whole", which includes all whole numbers.

INFINITY is its own standalone formula.
