people should take in consideration that lost is an allusion to life itself, everything in it is symbolic. The way the series started and the way it ends, is just like living in this world, we start not knowing why we're here and we ask countless questions and whys, but we end up in a very similar way we were born, without most of the answers we wanted, but with the feeling that we did something useful to this world, I'm not trying to bring an excuse, I'm just saying it's a lesson to be taken

The group in the plane (and Des) escaped but over time everyone died (I like to think that Hurley & Ben ran the island for several thousand years). Some chose to meet after death and form a kind of limbo or purgatory where they could help each other learn to "let go". Then they all moved into the afterlife together. That's what we saw in the church at the end superimposed with Jack's death on the island. What that not-so-metaphorical cork held in, I don't know yet. Exotic matter? Evil?

I didn't watch the series from the beginning watched it in 5 months Because there wasn't such a huge gap between watching all the episodes I didn't forget as many of the plot details. Many questions that people are crying not getting answered are just details that they must have forgotten or missed an episode. I absolutely loved the end of the series. The message at the end had to be based on faith, because at the end of our lives the only thing that matters is the people we cared about

Well that's kinda the easy way out though isn't it? Assuming that we're meant to extrapolate the answers from vague plot information. We could have done that last season.

I also dislike the finale on a philosophical level.

Amen, some people just take face-value for things & dont think on a deeper level. Thats what made 'Lost' so great. It was deep in its nature, emotions and symbolism. You cant have everything spoon-fed to you

this was the biggest cop out ive ever seen... they would have tried to suck up to more religions in the daddy scene btu they were probably afraid you might not spot 'your' religious symbol if they were all too small. the whole 6th season was like a childs short story that he wrote 10 minutes before it was due because he was too busy playing COD. Had great intentions but realised they fucked it up so just said it was 'insert magic skydaddy here'... pathetic

I still think it was a genius show. No other show had broken that many rules and still been able to say, "We just winged it." It will always be my favorite show. <3
