The 5-wood is more like a recovery wood. It is 26 degrees loft and looks more like a 7-wood. I hit a 7-wood about 160 yards. I hit this wood out of about 4 inches of grass, straight as an arrow and it went about 185 yards. With a standard club out of deep grass the problem is usually the club head twists in and the ball is pulled or duck-hooked left. With the shafy running straight through the center of gravity there is no torque of the club head. Each ball I hit came out straight as an arrow
