Well,this might be better in the long run,for the cat, since he or she is actually having to work for the food and only getting a pice or two at a time. It makes them slow down and get full on less since they are not gorging on the food that falls all at once. It is kind of like the idea of chewing your mouthful of food a certain number of times before swallowing. It makes you slow your eating and you feel fuller on less.

He looks so sad as he waits for more food. He is quite persistent, I like how he licks his paws after the food contact.
