Two expat cousins learn what it's like to live as Europeans without losing their American roots.
Unlike the Americans in Paris in the '20s, Ryan Erwin of Durham, NC, and Courtney-Anne Erwin of Shreveport, LA, left the U.S. for love. Ryan has been in Germany since 2005, and is now restoring historic boats in Hamburg. Courtney-Anne moved to the Netherlands in 2010 to join her fiance. Until late 2011, she was working as a marketer for a biotech firm in Amsterdam.
The lessons they've learned will be useful for any expat moving anywhere.
"Two Expats" was produced in Dec. 2011 by Bill Erwin for the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University. He is Ryan's father and Courtney-Anne's uncle.
Great impressions! And good luck for both of you
