Completely concealable 2-wide hallway stairs with pistons

Part of the dungeon I'm building as a Temple of Trials v2. This took entirely too long to get working, but damn if it doesn't get the job done.

how do you get it to stay open using only a button?

@Tralone It's called an RS NOR latch. Google it and you'll find directions on how to build them very easily.

why not make the stairway at a 45 degree angle with just cubes, the wiring would be a lot smaller!

@Alavador1 It was actually necessary to do it this way to fit the mechanism that swaps the stair blocks out for normal blocks. They wouldn't all fit immediately next to one another like that, so I added the extra blocks in between.

or you could already have the staircase there, blocking the hallway and then have pistons that move it aside.
