Opening episode of the Channel 4 series. Modern teenagers are put into a Secondary Modern school similar to how it might have been in the 1960's and where the emphasis was on practical work as well as academic qualifications. Copyright Channel 4.
This was a brilliant series of programmes, well made and thought provoking.
The headmaster welcomes the children and parents, and we meet the 1960's staff. The horrors of the old-fashioned uniform - and no make-up, or jewellery!
Narrated by Paul McGann.
The Secondary modern's did both vocational and Academic, I would like to have seen a series set in a technical school.

School wasn't school back then without a baldy Welsh teacher......they were ubiquitous. Where did they all go?
