Perhaps it would be better if Gov. Ishihara practiced what he preaches and demonstrated jishuku before expressing his opinions and proclamations.
I forgot to add, if one make someone do something, in this case, make people stop having Hanami, it's not really 自粛 anymore. :p

Thanks for the lesson Hiroko. But, could you please use Jishuku in a simple sentence. I cannot think of a proper way to use it. For example how would the Mayor ask you not to go to hanami?
