Great detail, I'm in Australia but got lots from this video, such as the normal debris dropped at the bottom of the hive, and closing it up. Thanks. One question, any particular reason for having the entrance at the sides instead of front and or back?

Hi there , i like this video, i keep about 40 hives in a sub-tropical area. I use a lot of foundationless comb in my Lang hives. There are some problems with the bees doing their natural thing in the fact that they make a lot of drone comb, which is fine, except the drones when they hatch hang around their comb for a while & not being defenders, allows the beetle to lay eggs under the hatched drones. I saw this several times last year before I realized what was happening.take care, cheers

HI! I'M FROM THE UK JUST WATCHED YOUR VIDEO I HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE BUT NOT AS DETAILED. THIS IS FOR FUN YOU SAID...THUMBS UP TO THAT...IT'S PROBABLY CHEAPER THAN THE LANGSTROTH? WHAT BENEFITS THOSE IT HAVE COMPARED TO THE LANGSTROTH HIVES. I CAN SEE A FEW -NEGS. BUT IT'S OK I GUESS, UNLESS YOU MODIFY IT LIKE IF YOU PUT A POLLEN TRAP AT THE FRONT ENTRANCE. WOULD IT WORK?

This is the first Bee Hive vid I've seen and I was just wondering.. How come you don't get stung? Don't you have to wear that bee-suit?
