I am sick of you, Catholics!
Where are your real scientists and researchers who would work with original sources and present to the world the REAL HOLINESS of the Catholic teaching?
All is twisted, corrupted, the enemies on charge…
I understand Catholic faith from the ancient manuscripts of original churches only.
You - corrupted- shallow ‘catholics’- your faith will be removed by the Lord. You are not worthy do be a Catholic. All can dictate you except the Lord and Apostles!

I killed a person and the Justice demands my death as well. My immense contrition and the MERCY OF GOD (explained and granted by indulgences) are so great that I am under an amnesty , and God grants me my life .
This what indulgence means and meant originally (after death it ensures also salvation too, for it was issued by Pope Urban II especially for Crusaders).
And when defining indulgences - Catholics should NOT compromise with cursed Protestants. PERIOD!

Is this a Vatican 2 Novus Ordo Channel?
I am OUT!
Indulgences remove the temporary punishment on earth too!
You twist the Catholic Faith.

@10WiseVirgins The people who wrote this, sad to say, are from a time when most people would have understood this, being Christ centric....Its modren day (starting with Luther) people who failed to understand it really.

@HetmanWojtek Jesus Christ is the high priest. Jesus opened the door to the father and states that all come to him.

So indulgences are to remove the chances and time in Purgatory only?
Why it is not clearly defined as such then?
Romans 9 tells you everything you need for salvation. Confessing your sins to Jesus Christ saves you. No one else can.

"Whose sins you shall forgive, they are forgiven them: and whose sins you shall retain, they are retained." John 20:21-23
"Confess therefore your sins one to another: and pray one for another, that you may be saved. For the continual prayer of a just man availeth much." James 5:16
Matthew 18:18 - the apostles are given authority to bind and loose. The authority to bind and loose includes administering and removing the temporal penalties due to sin.

@5tevef
The early Church Christians agreed with Jesus and the Bible as I have just quoted:
“In church confess your sins, and do not come to your prayer with a guilt conscience. Such is the Way of Life...On the Lord's own day, assemble in common to break bread and offer thanks; but first confess your sins, so that your sacrifice may be pure." Didache, 4:14,14:1 (c. A.D. 90).

"Father who knowest the hearts of all grant upon this Thy servant whom Thou hast chosen for the episcopate to feed Thy holy flock and serve as Thine high priest, that he may minister blamelessly by night and day, that he may unceasingly behold and appropriate Thy countenance and offer to Thee the gifts of Thy holy Church. And that by the high priestly Spirit he may have authority to forgive sins..." Hippolytus, Apostolic Tradition, 3 (A.D. 215).
