IT takes a VERY special parent to support a dream like skateboarding. That is such an non-traditional way to make a living. If you are the President of the annspade fan club, then I have to be the Treasurer. :D

You are a very strong person to pursue your dreams from almost a total internal motivation, without having had that parental support. Mega Kudos and Respek!

Thanks Dale! I have a "family" of friends and fellow dreamers that support me and so that really helps a lot. But I can't help but wonder from time to time how my life would be different if my parents actively showed some sort (any sort) of support for my happiness.  But I'm proud of who I am regardless!

I was probably lucky. My parents have both been wonderful in supporting my hopes and dreams. As a parent, I try to do the same. Even with my step kids. I don't know if I'm as good at it as my parents were, but I try.
